The Federation of State Medical Boards announced that the Federation of Podiatric Medical Boards has been named an affiliate member of its organization. “For many years the FPMB has worked closely with the FSMB in utilizing similar services as a leader in improving the quality, safety and integrity of the public’s medical and podiatric care. We now look forward to having an individual representative at their Annual House of Delegates meeting while sharing in their individual publications,” said Thomas Leecost, M.D. DPM, President of the Federation of Podiatric Medical Boards. The Federation of State Medical Boards, founded in 1912, is comprised of 70 medical boards within the U.S. and its territories. The Federation of Podiatric Medical Boards was started in 1936 and is one of the oldest podiatric organizations. Most podiatric medical boards are appointed by the Governor of each member state. Representatives of these boards are elected to the FPMB Executive Board. In recent years the FPMB has held their meetings at the Federation of State Medical Boards Annual Meeting. Many of those meetings are attended by officers and executive staff of the FSMB. Like the FSMB, the FPMB provides a clearinghouse for providing disciplinary action data to state boards and designated entities. The FPMB also provides states with score results on the Part III national licensing examination. Moreover, the FPMB web site receives numerous hits per day and is linked to most state boards web sites. Reports May Now Be Ordered Online By Credit Card The Federation of Podiatric Medical Boards now features an entirely redesigned web site featuring an eye-pleasing appearance plus a one-click menu to jump to any page on the site. Additionally, the state board compendium page (see Compendium) now enables side-by-side comparisons of states that visitors select. Among the other valuable web site features is a quick-select member boards page (see Member Boards) in which visitors can easily find and view valuable podiatric information. PMLexis/Part III Score and Disciplinary Reports from the Federation of Podiatric Medical Boards are available for online ordering (see Order Reports) with payment by credit card. Alternatively, report requests may be printed online and mailed in with payment by check. Your comments to the FPMB Executive Office are always appreciated. |
